Urgent Negotiations Update Meeting Set for 10-30-24

Updated: 2 days ago

We’ll get right to it - a lot is going on, so we are calling an urgent negotiations update/BAT meeting for this Wednesday, October 30th, between 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

ALL PECSH-MNA members are urged to attend — the contract we win as a union will affect all of us!

We will share updates from the bargaining table and discuss how we all can work together to get what we and our patients deserve.

Drop in anytime between 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church - Christ Campus (122 S Pennsylvania Ave.). Kids/families welcome.

On top of their insulting proposals, UM Health-Sparrow administrators’ behavior at the bargaining table this week was incredibly dismissive. They kept telling us to “move on” to “things that matter.”

How do they not get it??? Competitive wages matter. Affordable access to quality health care matters. Being safe at work matters.

In every area, our employer is falling far short at the table.

If that makes you mad — and it should — please join your fellow union colleagues at the meeting this Wednesday. Let’s discuss what the employer is trying to do and how we can use our power to fight back!

In solidarity,

Your elected PECSH-MNA bargaining team

P.S. We will be at the table negotiating again this upcoming week. Our goal is to get a great contract! Some of you have asked about what happens if the contract expires at midnight Wednesday (Oct. 30) without a deal. Our terms and conditions of employment remain status quo until we reach an agreement. The parties are required by law to continue to negotiate in good faith. There are a few exceptions to items in the contract that do not continue, such as our contract’s prohibition on strikes and lockouts.
