With negotiations paused until the new year, we wanted to do a quick check-in – and a thank you.
To be honest, we’re frustrated to be pausing bargaining for the holidays – but your support and solidarity are keeping us strong. We remain determined to get the excellent contract that we all deserve. We take that responsibility, and your trust, very seriously.
We are thankful to be representing you all – such a strong, passionate group of nurses and healthcare professionals.
As our union’s nearly unanimous strike authorization vote shows, we are united and ready for what comes next.
We have bargaining dates set throughout January, starting Jan. 2. We have a legal obligation to bargain in good faith, and we will continue to do so.
However, we want to be clear: Our strike authorization will remain in effect. Bargaining does not void that.
Will the employer turn over a new leaf in the new year? Time will tell – but rest assured, our patience has limits.
We have updated our FAQ page to try to answer any questions that folks might have about what happens if a strike is called. Please take some time now to review it.
We hope you are able to enjoy the holidays with friends and loved ones.
In solidarity and gratitude,
Your elected PECSH-MNA bargaining team
