We bargained with the employer Thursday (12/12) and we have an update below; we also bargain Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week.
Thursday evening (Dec. 19), we will have a BAT (Bargaining Action Team) meeting that we encourage everyone to attend; if you can’t make it, try to send someone from your unit.
This meeting will provide the latest updates PLUS we’ll have some MNA “Michigan Answers” shirts to hand out (we’re still waiting on part of our custom order). We’ll also have food and yard signs - families always welcome!
Stop by anytime between 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Edmund’s Pastime, 2010 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing.
Update from Thursday’s bargaining
We reached a tentative agreement on the small but important issue of dues deduction. This agreement will require nurses & healthcare professionals who choose not to be PECSH-MNA members to pay their fair share towards maintaining our contract. This agreement was made possible by the repeal of the “Right to Work” law.
We also discussed our proposals to improve the employer’s response to those of us who struggle with substance use disorders. And we continued to work our own counter proposal on economics, which we expect to make this week.
