Sparrow executives again tried to take control away from the frontlines rather than retaining Caregivers.

Management proposed completely rewriting our absence and punctuality process, leading to increased discipline.
Management proposed making the Flu vaccine mandatory. Our membership already has 90%+ voluntary compliance with the employer’s expectations.
Shortly before this week’s negotiations, management declared that they would no longer pay staffing fines.
The job of Hospital Administration is to staff and run a hospital. Just as a nurse can’t say they are no longer responsible for their patient’s care; Sparrow’s administration cannot say they are no longer responsible for our hospital’s staffing.
Sparrow executives need to understand that it isn’t just your elected representatives that are angered by this. They need to hear from all of us.
