Last week, the hospital put forth their economic proposal and informed us 24 hours later that it was a “package” proposal, meaning it would need to be accepted or rejected in its entirety.
Hospital Makes Economic Proposal: CAREGIVERS Not a Priority
This week we met for two scheduled bargaining sessions. The hospital put forth its economic proposals on Tuesday. These proposals send a strong message that they do not value our work, nor support our ability to care for the patients and community. Management has proposed unacceptable wide-ranging cuts to our benefits and no general wage raises for the next contract.
TAs but HEALTH & SAFETY still a concern
This week, we reached a number of tentative agreements on a number of noneconomic issues. However, critical issues such as Health & Safety, safe and secure work environment, and protecting our contract in the event of a sale, merger or affiliation remain unsolved by the hospital.
Invitation to Managers: CLEAN with Us
On Monday, October 2, the bargaining action team delivered an invitation to the nursing administration and
management negotiation team asking them to reconsider their position on the extra and unsafe work duties
assigned to staff or spend a week cleaning along with their staff. The team delivered the invitation with two
buckets autographed by members and full of all the necessary cleaning supplies to tackle the challenge. The
